Yepp, new wallpaper for you out there =)

Finally got terragen and registered it. My first terragen render...next time i won't add that much water. It took around 8 hours to render and crashed 3 times lol. That's no fun... and it isn't very detailed at all. But i'm pretty satisfied how it turned out at the end.

The rest is photoshop only, used a reference for brushing that little spaceship. But it looks more like a jet to me... however, it's my first one, too. So don't slap me for that

Enjoy?

Thanks for watching, critique is very appreciated ;)

I don't care much for the starfield. but everything else is stunning. especially the starfield.

all i can say is that is one close planet! ;P i like the feeling of flying through the air behind the plane. the planet almost looks like some kind of island or something. Love the water too!!

really like this, nice one. Whats the blurred starfield about though, at that distance there would be no visible blurring wouldnt there? Oh well realism aside it's a very nice piece.

Ooo. Nice. I especially like the water.

Thanks for the comments :)

I know that the starfield wouldn't be blurred, i messed up the lightning 'a bit', too :D
But it was just looking stupid without any starfield or an normal starfield. The planet should have got some reflection as well, but it just wasn't looking good. So... no realism here at all

And what do u think about Corel Bryce? I used it once but my comp didn't want it worked well. So does it easier to make such WP in Terragen or Bryce?

Nothing is impossible.
:iconairage:
I've used Bryce a few times, it's very complex. Rendering water/sun/clouds is an easy thing, but making landscapes was very hard to do for me. Maybe it's just me, but i gave it up after a few days and tried terragen again. I like it much more then Bryce, its easier for me, it's as good as free (u only have to register if u want to render larger images then 1024x758). Plus there are tons of good tutorials and hints on DA and many other sites. If you want to make landscapes/water only, get terragen =)
